Freddie Mac just released information showing that interest rates have reached a new 50-year low. Though interest rates have historically reached lower points (ie. 1900-1920 and 1935-1955), it's hard to imagine them plummeting any further. Market analysts are expecting interest rates to start climbing again and, in preparation for such a climb, many of our past clients at the Hallmark Realty Group in Richmond, Virginia have looked at refinancing their homes while new clients have been coming in droves to lock in their lowest possible rates. Our investor clients have started picking up more homes in hopes of capitalizing on their investments.

April 23rd marks the beginning of Richmond, VA's Spring Restaurant Week. The cost is $25.12 at each restaurant and the proceeds go to help support the Central Virginia Food Bank and Meals on Wheels. A list of all of the participating restaurants can be found on Richmond Restaurant Week's website and, if you are so inclined, you can hop on over to the Open Table app to reserve tables at your favorite spots! Reservations are not required, however. You are more than welcome to waltz in to your restaurant(s) of choice at your leisure!
The menus are all price fixed and include three courses. I'm going to head over to Amici Ristorante for a chilled melon bisque, angel hair pasta with Amici's tomato sauce, and some sorbetto for dessert. What are you going to eat?
Good News for the Housing Market in 2012

According to a report released by Capital Economics, the housing crisis of the past few years will end in 2012! Banks are now lending money at amounts much higher than they were during the housing crisis, and they have increased their loan-to-value ratio from 74% to 82%. Capital Economics states that this increase in loan-to-value ratio is the "clearest sign yet of an improvement in mortgage credit conditions."
What this means for buyers is that the market and the banks are in a position to allow you to get more house for your money! What this means for sellers is that the increase in potential buyers allows for more people to view your property, which will translate to the quicker sale of your home!
